Criminal Justice Technician 2 (CJT2)
The recruitment is exempt from the hiring freeze (Administrative Order 358). This recruitment is open to Alaska residents only. Applicants must meet the Alaska Residency Requirement to be considered for employment at this time.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING- Serve as the sole administrative support for the Tok Post, assisting the public, sergeant, and three troopers.
- Perform receptionist duties, both in person and by telephone.
- Accurately enter data into criminal databases and process criminal paperwork.
- Collect fees, reconcile cash, and ensure payroll is completed correctly and timely.
- Order and maintain post supplies.
- Act as the post’s evidence custodian: receive, store, and manage property; maintain chain of custody for all evidence including weapons, drugs, currency, sensitive documents, vehicles, and bio‑hazards; manage and provide evidentiary discovery to the District Attorney’s Office.
- Possess full proficiency in chain of custody duties.

Co‑located with DMV at 1314 Alaska Highway. The Tok Trooper Post has a private entrance for employees. The CJT2’s desk is in an open area behind the public counter, near the sergeant’s office and trooper squad room, but separated from prisoner holding cells. The public counter is separated by a window; the front door can be locked and unlocked remotely. The CJT2 may be the only person in the office with troopers in and out throughout the day.
