Location: Unalaska
Assist Head Start Lead Teacher as requested to implement daily lesson plans; preparation and clean-up of activities, meals, special projects, etc.; teach, by role modeling, children appropriate health, dental, and personal hygiene; provide opportunities for children to develop self-mastery skills by allowing children to accomplish as much on their own and offering assistance only when needed; provide atmosphere for children to develop positive self-esteem and pride by incorporating their culture/heritage into everyday classroom activities;
provide safe environment for children by supervising them at all times, indoors and out; and use of appropriate discipline/guidance techniques, including redirection, acknowledgment of appropriate behavior, and setting reasonable limits.
At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma/GED; one year of experience working with groups of children as a child care provider in home/center and/or volunteering in a Pre-School program; physically/mentally able to work with young children and their families. Upon date of hire, must provide documentation of current TB test and Hepatitis screening/vaccination status; fingerprints, criminal history background clearance and be willing to obtain a CPR and First Aid Certification.
