Job Description

Duties:

Expected to maintain awareness and knowledge of industry trends related to Foster Care and Adoption Services within the community, state-wide, and nationally.

  • Increase the capacity of Foster Parent resources through organizing, facilitating, and leading monthly strategy meetings with agency personnel and members of the Board of Directors. This also includes representing the Children’s Home of Easton at community events with the goal to promote the agency’s need to increase the number of Foster Parent Resources.
  • Maintain understanding of Pennsylvania Chapter 3700, Foster Family Care Agency Regulations, and participate in licensing reviews. This also includes ensuring that the Foster Parent Resource files are evaluation ready at all times.
  • Visit Foster Parent Resources for monthly supervision and required to complete documentation for the family file in reference to the content of visitation/supervision session.
  • Complete home assessments, orientation, and trainings for new Foster Parent Resources to include maintaining compliance of trainings and home assessments of current families.
  • Prepare and distribute a monthly report that is related to targeted programmatic goals for Foster Care to the Executive Director and Senior Leadership personnel. These goals should include timelines for recruitment, certification and training of Foster Parents Resources.
  • Communicate with Executive Director and Senior Leadership personnel regarding circumstances and issues that arise within certified foster homes timely.
  • Responsible to ensure that the agency maintains all mandated requirements to provide PA Statewide Adoption Services (aka SWAN). Units of Service referred through SWAN should be managed according to the capacity that the agency can provide and within reasonable distance. Monthly reporting is required for SWAN Services.
  • Preparedness, professionalism, and communication is expected at all times at the agency and when attending off-site meetings and trainings.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field or a minimum of five (5) years in a professional supervisory position.
  • Mature person, capable of commanding the respect of the Staff and students.
  • Must have good physical health as evidenced by passing physical examinations.
  • Must be able to make decisions, using fair and good judgment.
  • Must have leadership qualities.
  • Must have good character as evidenced by references.
  • Must be well-adjusted emotionally.
  • Must have ability to lead group activities.
  • Must be a person of integrity and responsibility.
  • Must have excellent supervisory skills and an ability to skillfully work with the people under his/her leadership plus the qualities of a good teacher.
  • Must have good physical health to meet all necessary job duties.
