After School Program Assistant

Job Description

• Adhere to the rules and regulations outlined in the Department of Human Services handbook for Child Day Care Centers and Keystone STARS.
• Ensure proper ratios are maintained at all times.
• Keep a consistent headcount on all children present at site; communicate changes with all other staff
• Consistently demonstrate positive interaction with all children; talk to them and treat them with dignity and respect
• Help children to develop a positive self-esteem and sense of self-worth
• Coordinate and assist in the implementation of daily activities and routines.
• Maintain all supplies, equipment and materials; inform the Site Director when new/additional supplies are needed.
• Ensure the environment is safe, clean, sanitary, organized, and conducive to learning and child development.
• Communicate with parents daily regarding their child’s progress, activities, incidents, concerns, etc.
• Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, absences, incidents, and emergency information on each child
• Attend staff meetings
• Other duties as assigned
