Team members participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while performing a variety of technical and clinical duties.

Obtain and record vital signs, chief complaints, and relevant health information.

Prepare instruments, materials, and treatment rooms for procedures.

Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.

Maintain sterile fields and ensure compliance with infection control standards.

Capture diagnostic dental radiographs.

Perform point-of-care testing when appropriate, including blood glucose and HbA1c testing.

Expanded Clinical Duties Depending on experience, training, and licensure:

Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants.

Place rubber dams.

Fabricate temporary crowns.

Pack cord and remove sutures.

Take dental impressions and prepare study models.

Assist with restorative, surgical, and preventive procedures.

Fabricate CEREC crowns (Dental Assistant III).Patient Education & Coordination Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, post-operative instructions, medication use, and healthy habits.

Coordinate referrals and assist with scheduling.

Follow up with patients after surgical procedures and specialty referrals.

Safety, Compliance & Operations Sterilize instruments and maintain sterilization documentation.

Adhere to OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and ANHC safety standards.

Assist with equipment maintenance and safety testing.

Support inventory management and supply stocking.
