Permanent Substitute Teacher
Location:
Nelson Island Area School, Toksook Bay, Alaska
Starting Date:
Immediately
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 20 instructional days total of successful LKSD substitute teacher experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students in a school setting.
- Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment.
- Ability to carry out successfully the duties described below.
- Carrying out classroom and other activities pursuant to the written plans of the teacher and/or the instructions of the Site Administrators.
- Meeting and instructing assigned classes in the locations and at the times designed.
- Encouraging students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative relations with others.
- Being responsible for monitoring the behavior of all students within his sight and hearing during the workday.
- Supervising lunchrooms, playground, bus loading areas, etc.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
$25.26 to $29.36 per hour.
