Position Overview
Residential Life Director (or Co‑Directors) for the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Sciences (PGSS), a five‑week STEM enrichment program scheduled for July 2026. The role involves managing a team of TAs/Counselors and ensuring a safe, collaborative living environment for PGSS students.
Program Dates- Arrival of Residence Life Staff:
Sunday June 14, 2026 - Residence Life Staff Training:
Week of June 15–18, 2026 - Student Arrival & Opening Ceremony:
Sunday, June 21, 2026 - Departure of students:
Saturday, July 25, 2026 - Departure of TA/Counselor Staff:
Sunday, July 26, 2026
- Oversee the TA/Counselors (12–15 people, ages approximately 18–25)
- Live in the same dormitory as the PGSS students
- Ensure students adhere to PGSS disciplinary rules
- Manage, arrange, and conduct social activities
- Foster a safe, collaborative living and learning environment for PGSS students
- Strong communication skills
- Prior experience with PGSS or a similar summer program is preferred
- Graduated from college or university by the start of the program
- A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
- Successful background check
