Help students access their education and support their communication needs as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school-based setting near Clam Gulch, AK. Multiple opportunities are available: one full-time and one part-time contract position for the  academic year, beginning 8/19/26 and concluding 5/20/27. Your expertise will play a vital role in fostering inclusion and success for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing.

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Hold National Sign Language Interpreter Certification (required)
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience in educational or school settings is highly valued
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and families
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, activities, meetings, and events for students using ASL
• Serve as a clear communication link between students, teachers, and staff
• Contribute to students' academic and social success by facilitating access to curriculum and school functions
• Adapt interpreting style to meet the unique needs of individual students
• Collaborate with educational teams to support student goals and progress
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the school
