Location: Clam Gulch

Located near the stunning landscapes of Clam Gulch, AK, this itinerant Special Education Teacher role offers the chance to make a profound difference in both secondary and elementary environments. This position involves serving students at both a high school and elementary site, creating a uniquely diverse and rewarding teaching experience.

Ideal candidates demonstrate adaptability, enthusiasm for working across various grade levels, and a passion for supporting students with special needs. While travel professionals are welcome to apply, preference will be given to educators interested in a long-term assignment or relocating to Alaska for the duration of the contract.

Qualifications &

Experience:
  • Current teaching certification in Special Education (out-of-state licensure considered)
  • Experience delivering IEP-driven instruction and supporting compliance documentation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, staff, and families
  • Strong case management, organization, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with itinerant teaching, or willingness to travel between assigned schools
  • Passion for fostering inclusive learning environments for diverse learners
Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized and small-group instruction to meet students' IEP goals
  • Collaborate with school teams to adapt curriculum and implement behavioral interventions
  • Maintain case records, monitor progress, and document services delivered
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
  • Support students at both Seward High and Moose Pass Elementary, ensuring seamless educational experiences across sites
