Travel We are seeking a passionate and adventurous Special Education Teacher to join a unique school community in Seldovia, Alaska.

This role offers a rare opportunity to live and work in a breathtaking coastal village accessible primarily by seaplane, providing an unparalleled professional and personal experience. This is a hybrid teaching position, serving both special education and general education students. The ideal candidate is flexible, student-centered, and excited to be part of a close-knit school community.

Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education from an accredited educational program. Valid Alaska state elementary & special education certification or ability to obtain required state certification. Experience working directly with students with disabilities in a special education setting. Experience managing a mixed classroom assignment, including separate instruction for a small special education cohort and larger general education groups.

Ability to work full time within a single school building and adapt to varied student group sizes (approximately 6 special education students and 15–20 general education students during different parts of the week). Willingness and ability to comply with local travel logistics, including living in the community and using seaplane transport when required for access to nearby towns.

Preferred Qualifications Training in behavior management, differentiated instruction, or transition planning for secondary students. Assignment Details Full-time position in one school building.
