The School of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University (CM-A) invites applications for the 2026 Joseph

F. Thomas Visiting Professorship (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).). This two-year professorship supports early to mid-career practitioners, scholars and studio educators with focused research and/or creative work interested in teaching.

Responsibilities

The professorship recipient will have an annual teaching load of two design studios and a seminar. In addition, support will be provided for research/creative activity through student research assistants and/or discretionary funds.

Qualifications

This position requires at a minimum a first professional degree in architecture (Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture).

The Final date to receive applications is January 5, 2026. Online interviews with shortlisted applicants will be scheduled for January 2026 with campus visits scheduled in February. The school expects to extend a job offer in March and complete the hire by May 2026, with employment expected to begin in August 2026.
