Overview
Prince William Sound College is recruiting Student Teaching Assistants for the Outdoor Leadership and Recreation program. You will assist professors with outdoor classes in a two‑year Associate’s degree program.
Responsibilities- Assist professors with outdoor classes.
- Organize and conduct outdoor classes in collaboration with faculty and peers.
- Provide communication and interpersonal support to class populations.
- Successful completion of the specific course to be assisted.
- Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace Trainer, and CPR certifications (obtained or offered during the first year of the program).
- Completion of the first year of the Outdoor Leadership program.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record per UA Safe Driving Criteria.
- Registered in six or more UA credits; scheduled to work no more than 20 hours per week during the semester as a student employee.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher and have successfully completed at least six UA credits in previous semesters.
This recruitment is open to undergraduate students only. Position located on the Prince William Sound Campus in Valdez, Alaska. This is a pooled Student Assistant 1 position.
