Role OverviewThe Code Sensei is the front-line mentor and coach, working directly with students ("ninjas") to guide them through coding challenges while creating a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with kids, technology, and helping others grow.
Key Responsibilities Student Engagement & Instruction- Guide students through coding curriculum and projects
- Help ninjas build problem-solving, logic, and critical thinking skills
- Provide encouragement, support, and individualized coaching
- Ensure every student has a fun and rewarding experience
- Create a positive, high-energy, and safe environment
- Maintain awareness of all students on the floor
- Assist with opening/closing duties and dojo cleanliness
- Uphold Code Ninjas standards for safety, engagement, and professionalism
- Provide feedback to parents on student progress
- Support tours and help demonstrate the Code Ninjas experience
- Represent the brand positively with families and guests
- Work closely with Lead Senseis and leadership team
- Participate in training and continuous development
- Contribute to a supportive and team-oriented culture
- Experience working with children (mentoring, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in coding, gaming, or technology
- Ability to learn and apply curriculum quickly
- Basic knowledge of programming (Scratch, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
- Teaching, tutoring, or coaching experience
- Code Ninjas Black Belt or portfolio (for student applicants)
Code Senseis are the heart of the dojo experience—they inspire, teach, and create the moments that keep kids coming back.
CompensationMinimum wage – $17.50 per hour
