After School Paraprofessional (ASP) – SERRC 21st Century Community Learning Center Program

The After School Paraprofessional (ASP) provides assistance to certified teachers with in-person instruction, organization, and management strategies, daily pre-planning and enrichment activities at Dillingham Elementary and Middle/High School in Dillingham, Alaska. The Lead Teacher and Program Coordinator supervise this position.

Position

Qualifications:

  • An Associate's Degree or higher in any subject completed at an accredited institution.
  • Two years of college coursework (60 semester hours or more) earned at an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and passing scores on the Para Pro Assessment or equivalent credentials

Position Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance to an assigned Local Program Teacher with academic and enrichment components for the after-school program.
  • Works individually with assigned students in-person to ensure that each student benefits from the assignment or task.
  • Assists with preparation of daily lesson plan materials and makes copies of materials for students (print or electronic).
  • Monitors students and assists with after-school recess and snack time.
  • Assists administrators and other staff members in the orderly, expedient and safe transition of students
  • Assists with training volunteers and guides assigned groups as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.
