Pay Rate: $19.50/hour
Shift: M-F 07:45AM
-3:15PM 5 day a week sub.
Teacher Assistant – Pre-K Counts Classroom
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to join our Pre-K Counts classroom team. This position plays a vital role in supporting early childhood education by assisting the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children.
- Support the lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Help with classroom management and promote positive behavior and social-emotional development.
- Provide individualized support to children as needed, including those with varying learning needs.
- Support children with basic needs such as toileting, meals, and rest time.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and staff to support student success.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.
- Assist with classroom documentation and record-keeping.
- Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher, OR Completion of at least 2 years postsecondary study with a minimum of 60 college credits; OR possession of current CDA (Child Development Associate)
- Interest or experience in working with young children in an educational setting.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to participate in required training and clearances (e.g., child abuse, criminal background, FBI fingerprinting).

This position involves working in a classroom setting with active young children and may require physical activity, such as lifting, bending, and participating in floor play.
