Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in early childhood education by bringing your expertise to a dynamic special education itinerant teaching opportunity. This contract position supports students with special needs attending community preschools, creating impactful learning experiences in inclusive settings.

Enjoy a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 3:30 PM) and a manageable caseload of approximately 30 preschoolers. You’ll travel to community preschools in the area, providing specialized instruction and support as an itinerant teacher. Guidance and training are provided to ensure a seamless start.

Key

Qualifications:

• Pennsylvania certification in PK-4 or Special Education required (emergency permits not accepted)
• Background in special education services, especially with preschool-age children, preferred
• Ability to effectively travel between different community preschool sites
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
• A positive, flexible attitude and dedication to individualized student support

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to preschool-aged students with special education needs in their community settings
• Adapt lesson materials and teaching approaches to meet IEP goals and individual learning styles
• Liaise closely with preschool teams, families, and district specialists to create supportive, inclusive classroom experiences
• Maintain thorough documentation, progress notes, and required reports
• Participate in IEP meetings and support multidisciplinary planning
