Power Plant Operator; P

JOB SUMMARY

TDX Manley Generating is recruiting for a Power Plant Operator. This is a temporary position, scheduled to last 2 to 4 weeks, located in Manley Hot Springs, AK. This position reports to the Utility Operations Manager.

• Work independently and with a team to maintain facilities and grounds. Operate in the diesel power plant to help maintain the facilities and the diesel generators. Read meters, perform basic cleaning and maintenance on the premises surrounding the power plant and Solar PV Farm. Ensure compliance with safety regulations for the industry to support overall safety on the job. Perform assembly, commissioning, testing, repair and maintenance on diesel generators, solar arrays, battery storage, facilities and related equipment at site.

• A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• A certificate or two-year degree program in applied sciences is preferred.
• One year of generation mechanic, Solar PV and battery storage experience, with strong or very good mechanical skills.
• Ability to travel for work and/or training for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work extended work schedules, often in unpleasant weather conditions, indoors and outdoors.
• Demonstrated ability to work in locations above the ground.
• A valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence and in good standing.
• Required to pass a background investigation.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and meet all physical requirements for the position.
