Job Description

Overview:
Salary: 120k-135k. Provides electrical engineering research and design for new and existing product lines to ensure functionality, quality, cost, and schedule by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Functions
  • Experience in power electronics and UPS topology
  • Provide electrical designs for new and existing product lines.
  • Proficient knowledge in DC/DC, AC/DC, and DC/AC conversion design and analysis; PCB design (Altium); analog and digital circuit designs; LTSpice; thermal design and analysis (FLOW simulation)
  • End-to-end evaluation and testing of microcontroller-based controller and its software with UPS inverter hardware.
  • Experience with PIC controller is a plus.
  • Understanding of UL924 is a plus.
  • Familiar with lab environment to conduct system-level testing.
  • Must be flexible, proactive, and innovative.
  • Must enjoy working with new technology in a fast-spaced environment.
  • Test electronic units and software using standard test equipment, analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment.
  • Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment.
  • Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronic components using hand tools or soldering iron.
  • Maintain working knowledge of state-of-the-art tools.
  • Provide engineering support or recommendations for new or existing equipment with regard to installation, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • Record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, or specifications.
  • Provide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or provide information on product use.
  • Document technical design details.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with coursework in electrical engineering, power electronics, use of PCB layout tool Altium, physics, mathematics, and statistics.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in the power electronics (specifically UPS and emergency backup) industry.
