Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Military Engines F135 Fleet Operations has a rare opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication skills – both oral and written – to represent the P&W Team at Eielson AFB as the F135 Site Lead and Technical SME. This role is required onsite at Eielson AFB, Alaska.
This position is a customer facing role in a high visibility and team-oriented environment.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as the F135 Site Lead and propulsion system subject matter expert for the 354th Fighter Wing at Eielson AFB, providing authoritative guidance on all F135-related matters.
- Deliver exceptional customer support and technical expertise for the installation's fifty-three F135 propulsion systems, including oversight of associated tooling, materials, and maintenance processes.
- Provide direct, hands-on interaction with F135 hardware and software, aircraft interfaces, and squadron personnel to ensure optimal system performance.
- Engage regularly with USAF leadership and maintainers to assess operational concerns, identify emerging issues, and communicate insights related to engine status, flight operations, configuration management, parts consumption, and support equipment health.
- Foster strong collaboration with internal Pratt & Whitney teams—including Customer Support Engineering, Supply Chain Management, the Operations Center, and ALIS—to troubleshoot issues, resolve priority changes, and support evolving customer needs.
- Demonstrate proactive leadership by identifying problems, conducting detailed investigations, determining root causes, and coordinating cross-functional solutions with Pratt & Whitney, the Joint Program Office, Air Combat Command, partner nations, and Lockheed Martin.
- As the P&W Site Lead, ensure seamless coordination of field issues with Engineering, the Operations Center, Logistics Program Management, and other supporting organizations.
- Uphold strict Environment, Health, and Safety compliance while modeling exemplary ethical standards and advancing Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) principles.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline required. Non-technical degrees may be considered with sufficiently relevant experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in engine or aircraft maintenance, logistics, and logistics support, including supply chain and support equipment management is required.
- U.S. citizenship required due to government contract obligations.
- Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one. Candidates with a recently lapsed clearance (within the past 2 years) will be considered.
- Willingness to travel extensively in support of customer deployments, including both domestic and international assignments.
- Ability to rotate between first and second shift schedules as needed to meet customer support and team objectives.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Background in ITAR/ITC is desired.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
