Engineering Assistant 1: $46.25 / Hourly (OT Eligible)

Engineering Assistant 2: $53.31 / Hourly (OT Eligible)

Engineering Assistant 3: $60.95 / Hourly (OT Eligible)

What you will be doing

As an Engineering Assistant, you will support the delivery of transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, airports, utilities, and other civil engineering improvements. This flexibly staffed position offers opportunities to develop technical expertise and assume increasing responsibility as you progress through the Engineering Assistant series.

  • Performing construction inspection and monitoring contractor work for compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Assisting with project documentation, quantity calculations, progress estimates, and contract administration activities.
  • Collecting material samples and supporting materials testing and quality assurance efforts.
  • Coordinating with contractors, inspectors, engineers, and project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Assisting with design, environmental permitting, and right-of-way activities during the non-construction season.
  • Preparing change orders, maintaining project records, and supporting payment processing and audit requirements.
  • Providing on-site project support and agency representation during construction activities.
  • Serving in increasing leadership roles, including training staff and potentially acting as a Project Engineer on assigned projects.
