Student Intern - Anaktuvuk PASS

This position is designed for high school students ages 14-18 interested in gaining work experience when school is not in session (summer/winter break).

THE NORTH SLOPE BOROUGH IS AN ALCOHOL AND DRUG FREE WORKPLACE.

• Accomplish the duties and responsibilities of their position and perform all work in accordance with directives and established standards.
• Possess, utilize and develop the knowledge, expertise and skills requisite for their position.
• Be punctual, regular in attendance and comply with Borough policy and procedure as well as departmental work rules.
• Observe the rules of safety with regard to equipment, vehicles and the workplace.
• Preserve, protect and conserve Borough property and resources.
• Work effectively, amenably and courteously with all persons, including supervisors, subordinates, co-workers, customers and the public at large.
• Contribute measurably to the accomplishment of their unit’s mission.
• Comply with federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations that apply to the performance of the employee’s duties and responsibilities.
• Perform all duties as assigned.

• Applicants must comply with Alaska Department of Labor requirements for minors.
• None required.
• Must be enrolled in high school and between ages of 14 and 18.
• All minors ages 14-16 must obtain a work permit through the State of Alaska Department of Labor.
• Ability to pass FBI fingerprint background check within 60 days of hire. (Police only)
