Lead Pharmacy Technician – Job Code: 2026:

Location:
Kotzebue, Alaska. Pharmacy Program – Full Time.
Assists pharmacists with inventory and inspections, maintains records, processes orders, packages drugs, maintains pharmacy spaces in an orderly manner, and supervises Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Biller to ensure timely completion of tasks.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESHigh school diploma or equivalent. College-level coursework in chemistry or medical‑related disciplines preferred. Ability to make accurate measurements and conversions between English and metric systems. Experience in a clinical setting and familiarity with medical terminology required. Willingness to attend job‑related training and education programs. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of healthcare professionals. Must be willing to be on call during declared disasters.
Familiarity with JACHO requirements and documentation in patient files. Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs., stand for prolonged periods. Familiarity with RPMS or equivalent used in the department. Must successfully pass the State of Alaska background check for licensing. Must have 2 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or 2 years previous supervisory experience. Must be familiar with the current drug wholesale order system or equivalent.
Alaska Pharmacy Technician License required.
