$7,500 sign on bonus for eligible applicants!! Mammography Technologists are responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation and multi-frequency sound waves for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. A mammographer performs breast imaging procedures and acquires and analyzes data, including mammographic and sonographic images needed for diagnosis, at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Mammography Technologists independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of mammographic and sonographic breast imaging procedures.
Mammography Technologists prepare, administer and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.
- Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
- Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
- Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
- Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
- Imaging pathologic breast specimens as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Performing breast ultrasound procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Performing mammographic procedures per facility policy or as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Performing or assisting with clinical breast examination.

- Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) required upon hire.
- New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry prior to first day of employment.

Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required), Bachelor's Degree-Related Field of Study (Preferred)
