Medical Support Technician Unit Clerk – Outpatient; $2,000 sign‑on bonus

The Yukon‑Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a tribal health care organization serving nearly 30,000 people in rural southwest Alaska.

Position Summary

Answers scheduling telephone calls. Schedules, cancels, or reschedules patient appointments using the Scheduling Guidelines or routes calls to the appropriate department or party in a professional manner. Assists the Case Management Team with office duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

• Minimum education:
  
  High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum experience:
  
  One year in a public‑facing role; previous switchboard experience preferred; working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• License, certification, registration:
  None required.
• Equipment/tools: computer, multiline telephone system, copy/print/scan machine, and general office equipment.
• Specialized knowledge and skills:
  Ability to communicate medical terms in patient‑friendly language; effective spoken and written English;
  Yup’ik speaker preferred.
• Supervisory responsibilities:
  
  None.
