Grant-Funded Community Coordinator & Interventionist
Location: Alakanuk, Alaska
The Yukon‑Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization serving nearly 30,000 people across rural southwest Alaska. This role supports the "Neqpiaput Iinruugut Research Study" by promoting its goals and objectives within local villages.
Responsibilities- Act as the local contact and spokesperson for the research study.
- Collaborate with the YKHC Health Research Department, the Nuyailnguq Calricaraq Consultant (co‑principal investigator), study staff, and community partners to advance study objectives.
- Engage tribal councils, community stakeholders, elders, and local members; organize and coordinate events and activities that promote the study.
- Facilitate discussions on health topics and behavior change with individuals and small groups, drawing upon elder guidance.
- Use technology to track, report, and improve program activities.
- Resident of and member of the community where activities take place.
- Fluent in both Yupik and English.
- Ability to organize events and coordinate among diverse groups.
- Proficiency in using technology for reporting and data tracking.
- Excellent verbal communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of the local community and proficiency in Yup’ik are significant advantages.
- Competency in Neqpiaput Iinruugut workshop facilitation and elder‑guided Calricaraq administration, demonstrated through observed competency.
- High school equivalent preferred (not required).
- Experience working within the community; preferred health‑related teaching or education experience.
- Calricaraq Facilitator training certificate required within the first year.

Hours per Week: 20
Minimum Hourly Pay: $32.88
