POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Informaticist I/II supports clinical teams in the effective use and adoption of the Oracle Health (Cerner) EHR system. In this role, you will collaborate closely with providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to leverage technology in ways that streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and improve patient care within the Maniilaq Health System (MHS). This position requires strong communication and customer service skills, the flexibility to work non-traditional hours when needed, and proficiency with computers and clinical software applications.

This role will report to the Director of Clinical Informatics.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead training and coaching efforts to promote effective use of the EHR across providers, nurses, pharmacists, and non-clinical staff.
  • Design, update, and manage EHR training materials to align with system enhancements and user needs.
  • Collaborate with the MHS team to support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of EHR applications.
  • Contribute to the development of new system functionalities that support clinical workflows and best practices.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in EHR usage, offering guidance to enhance clinical efficiency and patient care.
  • Support communication and change management efforts related to EHR updates and IT initiatives.
  • Identify and support workflow changes required by new systems or continuous improvement efforts.
  • Provide on-site and remote support to field locations for training, troubleshooting, and process improvement.
  • Troubleshoot software and workflow issues in coordination with technical teams.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support clinical applications during evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Job Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Informatics, or a related clinical field preferred. Associate’s degree with relevant experience considered. Minimum of 2-5 years of clinical informatics experience, preferably with Oracle Health (Cerner) or other major EHR system (Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks). Strong understanding of clinical workflows in hospital and outpatient settings. Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.

    Proficiency with healthcare IT systems and applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Flexibility to work alternative schedules, including evenings or weekends, as required.
