Senior Mental Health Counselor – Masters

Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK is hiring a full‑time, 0.9 FTE Senior Mental Health Counselor. The position is variable shift, 36 hours per week.

Hiring bonus of $5,000 for eligible external hires who meet the required qualifications and conditions for payment.

The Clinical Assessment Specialist is a licensed professional with a master’s degree in social services. They serve on the emergency/acute care clinical team to provide psychiatric risk assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation, and crisis intervention to patients and families in the Medical and Psychiatric Emergency Departments.

• Master's Degree in Social Work or related field, or Ph.D. in Psychology or related field.
• Upon hire: one of the following licensure in Alaska – Masters Social Worker License, Clinical Social Worker License, Psychologist License, Marriage and Family Therapist License, or Professional Counselor License.
• National Provider BLS – American Heart Association certification within 30 days of hire.
• At least 3 years of clinical experience in the mental health field.

Base pay range: $40.11 – $62.27 per hour. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
