Respiratory Therapist, Registered Respiratory Therapist

• Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchitis, and emphysema
• Work with physicians, nurses, pulmonologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Conduct pulmonary function screenings and comprehensive pulmonary function tests using spirometry equipment
• Educate patients on test preparation, respiratory equipment, inhalers, nebulizers, and medications such as albuterol
• Administer albuterol after pulmonary function examinations
• Conduct pre- and post-pulmonary function testing and other diagnostic evaluations
• Monitor patient progress, treatment effectiveness, equipment functionality, and patient comfort
• Communicate with pulmonologists and team members as needed
• Maintain a safe and clean environment and follow respiratory therapy safety protocols
• Travel occasionally to various populated areas within Alaska

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and/or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) preferred
• AARC Office Spirometry Certificate accepted
• Availability on occasional weekdays; no weekends
• Experience performing spirometry testing
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of respiratory equipment and medications
