Job Description

To manage and operate the site's administrative and educational computer and distance delivery technology components.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of computer and/or distance delivery technology experience required or successful completion of the Network Technician Apprenticeship Program.
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot computer networks, hardware, and software.
  • Experience with electronic mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Willing and able to receive training on distance delivery technology.
  • Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment.
  • Ability to travel by small airplane.
  • Ability to carry out successfully the duties listed below.
  • Duties
  • Assist students and staff with resolving technology-related issues.
  • Coordinate and/or provide in-service training of site employees in the implementation of the district’s e‑mail.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of the local area network and related network components, including backup battery systems.
  • Maintain the proper functioning, cleanliness, and accounting of technology components, including laptops, iPads, desktops, displays, projectors, and phone systems.
  • Be the site distance delivery manager and manage the site distance delivery equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting site e‑mail issues.
  • Train and cross‑train in software designated as the district-wide standardized applications.
  • Install and maintain updates to site software applications.
  • Collect and maintain manuals, spare cables, and technology components.
  • Clean and perform minor maintenance on the site’s copiers and printers.
  • Escalate issues to district TAI staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Position Type: Part‑Time

    Salary: $25.26 Per Hour

    Job Requirements
    • At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
    • High School/Trade School degree preferred.
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
