Location: Whittier

Responsibilities

  • Setup new production test areas, including layouts, tooling and equipment setup, etc.
  • Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles
  • TIG welding according to engineering models, drawings, specifications and written procedures
  • Brazing according to ASME IX III
  • Interface with production leads, supervisors, manager and QA inspection to ensure timely customer delivery
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
  • Setup and operate precision calibrated tools including but limited to, TIG welding machine, brazing setup, gas tanks, lines, regulators, digital and mechanical gauges, instruments etc.
  • Diagnose non-functional welded assemblies independently
  • Calibrate and test DPU assemblies per engineering procedure independently
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 6S and Lean initiatives
  • Learn quickly from mistakes, absorb knowledge from mentors, take ownership, cross-train others and deliver results
  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to achieving organizational success
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • D17.1 and D14.1 certifications
  • Experience with mechanical assembly and gauge calibration
  • 3‑5 years direct experience in industrial manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field
  • Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast‑paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Hand dexterity required to assemble small mechanical or electrical components
  • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to climb ladders/stairs and work in small restricted areas
  • Ability to lift heavy items up to 44 lbs. if needed
  • Work off‑shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired
  • Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
  • Experienced in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Schedule
  • 05:00 – 13:30 with overtime and weekend hours as needed
