Woodworker
Zen Bathworks, located at 832 Spruce Grove Rd, Haines, AK 99827, is seeking a Woodworker to join our 9‑person team. We manufacture luxury wooden soaking bathtubs and tubs and serve customers across the United States and Canada.
OverviewThis is a full‑time position in a lean manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement and craftsmanship. The role requires working with your hands, operating woodworking equipment, and supervising production tasks.
Responsibilities- Learn, execute, teach, inspect, and supervise production steps for Cedar Hot Tubs.
- Use woodworking equipment correctly and safely (bandsaws, table saws, miter saws, drill press, sanders, molder, shaper, vacuum press).
- Optimize material use and meet production schedule deadlines.
- Maintain quality through accurate measurements, proper cuts, and fine finishing of wooden surfaces.
- Properly mix and apply epoxy and finish surfaces with sanding, oiling, and waxing.
- Suggest quality improvement changes when possible.
- Operate forklift safely and assist with receiving, shipping, and inventory tasks.
- Help maintain tools, sharpening schedules, and a clean, safe shop environment.
- Experience crafting, building, and working with your hands; woodworking preferred.
- Ability to work on your feet, lift up to 100 lbs, and maintain steady hands.
- Good math and measuring skills.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
- Life‑long learner outlook and ability to work unsupervised while guiding an assistant.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain a respectful, constructive workplace.
