Job Summary:
Operates machines and production equipment in accordance with quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment with direct guidance.
Key Responsibilities- Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE): Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards. Report any work-related injury, illness, incident or hazard. Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures & regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment. Promote interdependence by looking out for one another. Correct hazards within your control and capabilities. Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact.
Engage in HSE Training. - Quality: Follow all applicable standard work, process documentation and quality procedures. Raise issues to minimize cost and quality exposures. Perform quality inspections. Identify and control non-conforming material.
- Delivery: Operate manual and automated equipment to manufacture and assemble product in order to create the proper characteristics and dimensions necessary to meet customer expectations. Achieve production goals. Work at the required cycle time or defined engineering standard. Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and perform planned operator care and maintenance tasks.
Remain flexible and perform other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet production goals. Work with peers, skilled trades and support staff to identify equipment needing repair. - Teamwork: Communicate effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams. Complete training and personal development in line with business requirements. Participate actively in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience- Minimal or no work experience required.
- Must be able to identify and install correct tooling and work pieces, monitor tool life, replace worn tools and reduce scrap and rework.
- Must be able to use and read calipers and gauges.
- Must be able to inspect parts to ensure quality compliance and identify defects and tool wear.
- High school diploma, GED, certificate or vocational training in manufacturing preferred.
- At least six months of experience in assembling and inspecting brake components within Cummins (CDBS).
- Six months of experience within Cummins (CDBS).
- Must be able to lift 25 to 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
