Tester- 2nd Shift
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Functional Testing: Perform electrical, mechanical, and system-level testing according to engineering procedures, test scripts, and work instructions.
- Test Equipment Operation: Safely operate meters, power supplies, load banks, diagnostic tools, and other testing equipment to validate system performance.
- Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and document electrical or mechanical issues; collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Quality Verification: Verify proper installation, wiring integrity, torque values, labeling, and overall build compliance prior to testing.
- Documentation: Accurately complete test reports, inspection checklists, redlines, and electronic documentation systems.
- Compliance & Safety: Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc flash protection, PPE requirements, and company policies at all times.
- Calibration Awareness: Ensure testing equipment is within calibration requirements prior to use and report any discrepancies.
- Process Adherence: Follow standardized testing procedures to maintain consistency, reliability, and repeatability of results.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve test processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.
- Team
Collaboration:
Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of issues and on-time project completion.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous electrical testing, industrial manufacturing, or commissioning experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation
- Experience using multimeters, insulation testers, torque tools, and other electrical test equipment
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory and troubleshooting principles
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills for documentation and test reporting systems
- Commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
This position may require standing for extended periods, repetitive hand motions, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to noise, energized equipment, industrial machinery, and manufacturing conditions.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, or overtime as required by production schedules.
No travel required; position is facility-based.
