PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To monitor CHA/P training requirements. To provide education and training to CHA/Ps from all the villages within the region. The primary focus is to be centered on Pre-session, Post Session Learning Needs (PSLNs), Standing Orders (SO), credentialing and recredentialling and CME. Provides primary health care in assigned clinic and/or sub region. Travels to provide primary health care in village clinics within the Bristol Bay region.
When assigned, provides primary care support to the outpatient department at BBAHC.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Rural Primary Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
* Certified Physician's Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner licensed in the
State of Alaska with a minimum of two years Mid-Level experience required.
* Strong supervisory skills needed.
* Experienced in emergency care preferred.
* Able to perform duties with a high degree of autonomy.
* Strong physical assessment, supervisory, and teaching skills.
* Demonstrates attention to detail.
* Able to effectively use English for both written and verbal communication.
* Demonstrates prioritization, organization, and administrative skills.
* Prefer ability to speak one of the local native languages.
* Dependable; maintains confidentiality.
* Able and willing to perform job functions, including travel, year-round.
* Negative drug screen.
* Knowledge of and experience in Alaska's Community Health Aide Program preferred.

Th and development over the life span (e.g., pediatric/adult/geriatric) and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the assigned unit's policies and procedures.
* This position also requires that the individual be sensitive to and can relate to cultural/ethnic diversity.
ESSENTIAL
JOB DUTIES:
A. Adheres to and enforces BBAHC and CHAP policies and procedures.
* Complies with I-IIPAA standards, maintains patient and business confidentiality.
* Is punctual, reliable, and maintains ability to perform the duties of the job.
* Complies with state and federal regulations and The Joint Commission standards.
B. Maintains an active role in the training and education of CHAPs including but not limited to PEF reviews, Standing Orders, Pre-session, Post session learning needs, Continuing Education needs, Preceptoring and Credentialing.
* Assesses the educational and training needs of the BBAHC CHA/Ps.
* Collaborates with the Staff Development, CHAP Training Coordinator and CHAP
Manager, to determine the ongoing educational needs of the CHA/Ps
* Prepares appropriate material and information for presentation to the CHA/Ps for maintaining and enhancing skills related to health care in the village setting.
* Presents the material in a manner and setting conducive to learning.
* Evaluates the learner's progress, provides feedback to the student, and makes changes as needed to accomplish the desired effect.
