Job Information

This position is represented by the Public Employees, Local 71, and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

Schedule varies:

4/10's-Mon-Thu, 6am-4:30pm;
Tue-Fri, 6am-4:30pm, Fri-Mon, 6am-4:30pm; all shifts with 30-minute meal period.

This position is represented by the Public Employees, Local 71, and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union.

Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.

External applicants and other current Municipal employees not covered under this agreement

The position will maintain the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) park land and sports facilities, outdoor recreation facilities, trails, and municipality-owned grounds. Routine maintenance to a specific project or specialized area of responsibility at one park or recreational facility, or at several parks or areas. Winter duties may include, but are not limited to, litter collection, snow & ice removal, outdoor recreational ice maintenance, trail grooming and maintenance, special event preparation and support, and general grounds and facility cleaning and repair.

Summer duties may include, but are not limited to, turf and irrigation maintenance; litter collection; athletic and multi-use field maintenance; trail maintenance; park fence and barrier repairs; park shelters, amenities, and equipment cleaning and repair; special event preparation and support; and general grounds and facility care. Other duties as assigned.

Three

months experience in lawn, landscape, trails, construction, grounds, or facility maintenance.

Must posses a valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire.

Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
