Job DescriptionThe Contractor Quality Control (CQC) Manager is responsible for overseeing all quality control activities on a construction project to ensure full compliance with contract requirements. This role leads the on-site CQC program, coordinates with testing laboratories and inspectors, and maintains the highest standards of construction quality and safety. The CQC Manager serves as the primary point of contact for all quality control activities and ensures that all testing, certifications, and documentation are properly completed and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the project’s Contractor Quality Control (CQC) program.
- Attend Mutual Understanding Meetings and execute all three phases of control.
- Review, evaluate, and approve submittals in accordance with contract requirements.
- Ensure all required testing and inspections are completed, documented, and verified.
- Provide quality control certifications, reports, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate and oversee testing laboratory personnel and any additional inspection/testing staff.
- Maintain complete and accurate CQC records throughout the project lifecycle.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all CQC-related activities.
- Support project safety, hazard identification, and sustainability initiatives.
- Graduate engineer or architect with at least 5 years of construction experience on similar projects, or
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management with at least 5 years of similar construction experience, or
- Minimum 7 years of construction quality control experience on comparable projects (in lieu of a degree).
- Familiarity with EM 385 1 1 safety requirements.
- Strong understanding of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability practices.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
- Proficiency in quality control procedures, testing, and documentation.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
- Completion of the Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors course.
- If not currently certified, must obtain certification within 90 days of contract award.
- Certification must be renewed every 5 years; expired certificates require retaking the course.
- Training is periodically offered by NAVFAC and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Pay: $200,000/per yr
