What You Will Be Doing:As a Food Service Lead with Goose Creek Correctional Center, you will:
- Direct kitchen staff, including Food Service Journey employees and inmate workers, in the preparation and production of meals for up to 1,500 inmates.
- Ensure stock is pulled for the daily pre-set menus and ensure medically prescribed diets are properly prepared for each meal service.
- Direct the production and preparation of all bakery items.
- Oversee and instruct kitchen staff in the areas of cooking, baking, sanitation, nutrition, and portion control.

GCCC is a minimum/medium custody facility that houses up to 1500 inmates and employs over 350 staff. You will be working in an institutional setting with inmates daily.

RECRUITMENT DIFFICULTIESStarting salary may be approved up to Step D - $27.75, if criteria are met.
