- Prepare a variety of meals that highlight local ingredients and traditional cooking methods, ensuring that each dish is both delicious and culturally significant.
- Collaborate with local community members to incorporate traditional recipes and cooking techniques into the menu, enhancing the authenticity of the culinary experience.
- Manage the kitchen environment, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and compliance with food safety regulations at all times.

- Plan and execute meal schedules that accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring that all participants feel included and satisfied.
- Source ingredients from local suppliers and markets, supporting the community and promoting sustainable practices.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff and volunteers, providing guidance on food preparation and safety protocols.
- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are available for meal preparation.
- Develop and implement creative menu ideas that reflect seasonal availability and cultural significance, keeping the dining experience fresh and engaging.
- Participate in camp events and activities, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere that celebrates local culture.
- Document recipes and cooking processes to create a resource for future camps, ensuring the preservation of culinary traditions.
- Provide feedback and insights to camp leadership on participant satisfaction and areas for improvement in the culinary experience.
- Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a camp or community setting, with a strong understanding of local culinary traditions.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse groups of people.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
