Summary:In this highly visible sales role you will promote Rain for Rent’s line of pumps, tanks, filtration units, spill guards, pipes and service within an assigned territory. The territory covers Eastern Ohio to Pittsburgh and lower counties in Pennsylvania – the ideal candidate should live in this region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Conduct pricing and quoting to meet profit objectives for the assigned territory.
- Meet or exceed rental sales and revenue objectives in the assigned region.
- Execute sales strategies and build customer relationships.
- Create solutions to close clients’ irrigation and liquid handling challenges.
- Share innovative products, creating market awareness, closing deals and increasing new/repeat customer business.
- Expand top‑ten customer relationships and revenues through regular, face‑to‑face sales calls.
- Promote, seek out, and consummate new and repeat business for sales and rentals.
- Participate in business development opportunities including brown‑bags, tow and shows, and trade associations.
- Attend industry events to maintain updated knowledge.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory calling on regular and prospective customers while controlling expenses.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all products, applications, pricing, terms, sales and credit policies, and promotional aids.
- Detail terms and conditions of each quote to satisfy the customer and limit company risk.
- Quote prices and prepare concise written orders for sales, rentals, and leases, estimating delivery dates.
- Promote full‑service solutions of design, installation, service and operation.
- Coordinate with branch personnel on product availability, delivery, and job specifics.
- Prepare written reports and records for management on a timely basis.
- Manage the customer database using computer software.
- Promote cooperation and good communication with all branch and corporate personnel.
- Actively participate in the company’s safety culture.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from a four‑year college or university.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of related sales experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- General knowledge of hydraulics, pumping, irrigation system design, water handling products, and ability to sell multiple product lines.
- Minimum six months experience using automated systems including a CRM system.
