Position: Information Technology Specialist (Systems Administration) with Security Clearance
Location: Wainwright

Duties
* performs system administrative duties to ensure optimal functioning for the windows local servers and network.
* develops utility software to ensure compatibility between operating systems, domains, file access methods and installed programs.
* responds to system failures caused by software and hardware deficiencies.
* implements procedures to meet installation requirements by configuring the computers subsystems and peripherals involved. Requirements conditions of employment
* appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* position may require incumbent to respond to call outs and/or work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays to provide 24-hour continuous coverage of the siprnet and niprnet networks.
* position may require incumbent to work shift hours, such as 2nd shift.
* position may require lifting up to 35 pounds.
* position may require travel up to 10%.
* this position is designated tier 5, critical or non-critical sensitive, high risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a top secret security clearance level as a condition of employment.
* this position has been designated mission essential. Employee may be required to remain on duty or report for duty during severe weather or other installation closings.
* may be required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Call back and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position.
* cyber security certifications required for this position: 450-systems administration, 410-customer service and technical support, 530-incident response.
* in accordance with dodm 8140.03 and supplemental army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each cyber work role (except data, ai, and/or software engineering)
* at the assigned proficiency level:
1) foundational qualification requirements within 9 months,
2) resident qualification requirements within 12 months,
3) 20 hours of continuous professional development (cpd) per work role code (which can overlap).
* this is a drug testing designated position (tdp) under the department of the army drug-free federal workplace program in accordance with ar 600-85.
* signing of a da form 5019 (condition of employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the department of the army drug-free federal workplace program)
* acknowledging periodic random drug testing requirements is mandatory prior to being placed into this position.
* those individuals not currently occupying a tdp position must successfully complete a pre-appointment drug test prior to being placed into this position and periodically thereafter.
* appointment to this position may be subject to a three year probationary period unless has previously completed.
* this is a dod cyber excepted service (ces) personnel system position in the excepted service under 10 usc 1599f. Appointment to this position does not confer competitive status. Qualifications cyber excepted service positions are not subject to the two-page resume limit.
