Village PUBLIC SAFETY Officer – ROVING -Dillingham

VILLAGE PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER – ROVING OBJECTIVE

Provides a “First Response” to public safety emergencies such as search and rescue, fire protection, emergency medical assistance, crime prevention, basic law enforcement, and follow up written reports.

Candidate must be at least 21 years old, have a strong interest in Public Safety, and possess a non‑official copy of a high‑school diploma or GED and birth certificate, passport, or citizenship paperwork. Must be able to complete legible written reports within critical timelines and submit a writing sample during the interview. Familiarity with lifestyles and cultures in remote Alaska villages is required.

Must complete a 16‑week ALET curriculum at the VPSO Training Academy in Sitka, AK as scheduled. Candidates released from the academy prior to graduation for non‑medical or family emergencies may not continue employment. Must also participate in additional required training to meet program goals, trooper law enforcement requirements, or training set forth by Council.

$33.79–$62.94 per hour, based on years of service.
