Overview
The Resolve Marine Shipyard Superintendent provides supervision and leadership when conducting shipyard projects on or off site in Dutch Harbor, AK. This position reports to the Facility Manager/Project Manager when engaged in billable projects and to the Facility Superintendent when working on internal on‑site projects.
Position Responsibilities- Has a high level of knowledge of vessel repair and ship husbandry activities and methodologies
- Has the knowledge and experience to assist with shipyard bids and cost analysis
- Has exhibited the ability to lead work while keeping a high-level balance of quality, progress, and safety performance safely and efficiently from start to finish of a project
- Is certified as a “Shipyard Competent Person” and can properly use gas detection devices to ensure safe entry into confined spaces
- Has experience operating on projects with various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, man‑lifts, cranes, trucks/trailers, scaffolding, vessels, and barges
- Has experience operating sandblasting equipment, paint sprayers, pressure washers, and other types of common shipyard equipment
- Has the ability to interface professionally with clients and regulatory entities for vessel inspections
- Must be able to read prints and drawings and communicate the details to the workforce
- Must be able to operate away from the facility with little to no communication when needed
- Has a high level of experience in incident reporting protocols and processes
- Must be able to communicate safety processes and procedures to the workforce
- Follows all regulatory compliance guidelines and regulations
- Complies with all safety policies and guidelines set forth by Resolve, OSHA, or other regulating body
- Communicates effectively and follows directions
- Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in the Marine industry
- Marine shipyard offshore or salvage experience preferred
- Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC card
- Requires the ability to work on small vessels and repairs
- Driver's License
- Passport (highly preferred; if global deployment is required for this position, a current passport is required)
- First Aid/CPR/AED
- Sit or Stand
- Use Hands/Fingers to handle or feel
- Exposure to work: outside weather conditions, fumes, shipyard work environment, Maritime work spaces
- Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance
- Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Talk/hear

- Carry weight, lift up to 75 lbs.
Up to 100% travel is required. If additional travel is required beyond the specified amount, you will be notified accordingly so arrangements can be made.
