Job Description
We are currently seeking an AC Electrician – Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 (Journeyman) and Level 4 (Lead)
PVI has an immediate need at their West Chester branch for skilled AC Electrician Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 (Journeyman) and Level 4 (Lead). These positions will support the AC Electrical team with commercial, industrial jobs to troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical equipment and systems.
Essential duties and responsibilities for Level 1- Courteous and respectful to clients and their workspace.
- Maintain a clean job site. (Clean in Clean out).
- Learn materials associated with projects and keep onsite material organized.
- Learn skills necessary to complete tasks such as conduit bending, threading and installation, panel board installation and wiring, proper use of tools.
- Utilize MS Teams/Shifts for Scheduling, SOW’s and additional job-related files, MS Outlook, Apple notes app for daily tasks and material needs.
- Be available to support projects and emergencies that occur outside of normal business hours.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Level 2 at least 2-4 years of electrical experience.
- Level 1 qualifications plus the following:
- Responsible for tools and materials in vehicles that are commonly used and replenish when necessary, to avoid slow‑downs. (Vehicles should be clean and organized)
- Responsible for project production and Client Standards for projects.
- Learn skills necessary for the professional installation of electrical equipment in compliance with the NEC including article 110.12 (Neat and workmanlike manner) including: conduit bending, threading and installation. (Level, plumb and parallel), proper installation of panel boards/equipment, Project layout and measuring, troubleshooting, NEC code compliancy. (Conductor ampacity, Sizing Raceways, Junction boxes and equipment grounding conductors)
- Learn new skills outside of the typical AC electrician skill set.
- Equipment alarming circuits and network configuration.
- HVAC controller, Avtech and power meter programming.
- Heavy equipment operating.
- Hub entry system. (JB#)
- Learn to read blueprints, schematics, & other equipment documents associated with installations.
- Report to Level 3 and above with progress reports and potential project complications.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Level 2 at least 2-4 years of electrical experience.
- Level 2 qualifications plus the following:
- Obtained a journeyman license with 4 years experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Understands the NEC and can complete OSHA 10 & OSHA 30.
- Run conduit from distribution to devices or panels, install junction boxes, AC disconnect, Load Center, ATSs, Generators, MDPs, MCC and other electrical equipment.
- Starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements for machine activation and shutdown.
- Previous work experience with voltages of 24 through 480 volts single & three phase equipment.
- Installation of and troubleshoot existing electrical systems for customers.
- Level 3 qualifications plus the following:
- Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles of operation of electrical equipment.
- Direct manpower and participates in daily preventive and corrective maintenance as well as general construction.
- Maintains daily works orders/records of equipment, inspections, preventive maintenance activities and produces periodic reports.
- Documentation of daily site work and safety procedures.
- Able to read prints & wiring diagrams. Able to read & interpret Electrical measuring equipment.
- Troubleshoots repairs, replaces electrical equipment. Troubleshooting and changing out electrical equipment and motors.
