- Perform inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of generators and associated equipment (e.g., transfer switches, battery systems).
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Support load bank testing and generator performance assessments.
- Help install and commission new generators and related electrical systems.
- Keep detailed records of work performed and parts used.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, vehicles, and job sites.
- Follow safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines during all work.
- Organize work by receiving and studying work orders; gather tools and supplies.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; read technical publications.
- Replace conduit and wiring as needed.
- Accomplish maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Complete special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or military experience is a plus).
- Prior experience with generators and small engine repair required.
- Interest in electrical/mechanical work and power systems.
- Basic understanding of hand tools and electrical testing equipment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior technicians.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, noisy, etc.).
- OSHA 10/30 preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot & problem solve.
- Ability to complete equipment maintenance.
- Able to pass a drug screening and background check (random testing may occur).

- Field and shop-based work; travel to customer sites may be frequent.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during emergencies or power outages.
- Must be able to see color to discern color‑coded wiring.
- Comfortable with prolonged periods of standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
