Location: Prudhoe Bay
This is a remote/ rotational position, working in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:
The Roadside Service Mechanic provides field maintenance, diagnostic, and emergency repair support for a fleet of heavy-duty trucks, semi-tractors, trailers, and support equipment operating throughout the North Slope. The position responds directly to equipment breakdowns and service requests in remote locations, performs repairs safely and efficiently, and determines whether equipment can be returned to service, requires recovery, or must be removed from service.
The Roadside Service Mechanic directly impacts fleet availability and operational readiness. Success in this role is measured by safe repairs, accurate diagnostics, reduced downtime, improved equipment reliability, and strong support of field operations.
Essential Job Functions:
* Respond to roadside service calls in remote operating areas.
* Diagnose and repair diesel engine, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, driveline, steering, suspension, brake, HVAC, and aftertreatment systems.
* Utilize OEM diagnostic software, electronic service tools, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.
* Perform emergency repairs intended to safely return equipment to service.
Determine when towing, recovery, or shop-level repairs are required.
* Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs in field environments.
* Complete work orders, labor entries, parts requests, and equipment condition reports.
* Communicate repair status and equipment condition to operations, dispatch, and maintenance leadership.
* Maintain and control access to assigned service truck, tools, inventory, and diagnostic equipment.
* Independently determine whether equipment can be safely returned to service, temporarily repaired, recovered to a maintenance facility, or removed from service.
* Develop & Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, uptime, and safety.
* Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and required training programs.
* Exercise sound judgment while balancing safety, reliability, operational requirements, and company policies.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
* Advanced mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
* Understanding of DOT inspection and compliance requirements.
* Knowledge of diesel emissions systems including DPF, DOC, SCR, and DEF systems.
* Ability to prioritize multiple service requests in a dynamic operating environment.
* Ability to make sound repair decisions under pressure.
* Strong customer service mindset supporting operations personnel in the field.
* Demonstrated experience troubleshooting Class 8 tractors and trailers.
* Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation.
* Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment and OEM software.
* Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
* Ability to use voice communication devices.
* Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
* Ability to drive on multiple conditions of the road, ice, snow, darkness.
Physical Demand/Work Environment:
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:
* Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
* Standing for prolonged periods of time.
* Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather
* Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
* Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
* Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
* Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
* Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
* Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
* Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.
