Job Summary

The Tire Technician is responsible for repairing and replacing tires on all light and heavy-duty equipment and machinery both in the field and in the shop. This position performs routine and scheduled inspections and maintenance activities of tires and related tire equipment. This position works in extreme arctic conditions when in the field and will require working on night shift.

Essential Duties
  • Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires on equipment and machinery.
  • Change flat tires in the field on both light and heavy-duty equipment and vehicles.
  • Unload and load tires and related items as required.
  • Operate jacks to lift and position vehicles for tire repair.
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance activities on light and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Track and maintain tire inventory.
  • Maintain records, logs, and schedules of all requests and orders.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area.
  • Assist light and heavy-duty mechanics during repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Operate heavy duty tractors and lowboy trailers for hauling and recovery work.
  • Assist with equipment fueling.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.
Required Experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid (U.S issued) Driver's License is required.
  • A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
  • The ability to work 84 hours a week on a 3x3 rotation on night shift is required.
  • At least three (3) years of experience working with and changing flat tires on both light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment is required.
Preferred Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working as a Tire Technician specifically in the Petrochemical or Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in other Arctic environment is preferred.
  • A valid (U.S issued, Alaska compliant) Class B CDL is preferred.
