Purpose and Scope

Performs maintenance, repair, installation and operation of refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, combustible equipment, and related equipment items. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS).

Essential Responsibilities
  • Completes and quality checks maintenance records and documentation as required.
  • Replaces, repairs, installs, and operates refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, combustibles, and related equipment.
  • Interprets electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and maintenance malfunction data to analyze malfunctions.
  • Uses test equipment, load banks and diagnostic tools to operate, maintain, inspect, test, repair and reconstitute GPMS assets.
  • Prepares GPMS assets/equipment for air, sea and road haul shipments per Technical Orders, Manuals, Checklists, Regulations and UTC Configuration listings.
  • Completes required documentation for DOD, USAF Supply/Maintenance, Amentum and associated forms, and updates historical records.
  • Operates material handling equipment as required.
  • Inspects Hazardous Materials within the assigned work center and coordinates disposal with the appropriate office.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as directed by Amentum/ USAF tasking, including assisting other departments and participating in Temporary Duty (TDY) assignments.
  • Conforms to Amentum/USAF safety, hazardous material and quality standards; ensures all tools, personal protective equipment and clothing are safe, secure and serviceable.
  • Erects, constructs and operates GPMS HVAC systems and associated equipment for exercises and contingencies.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 5 years of military or civilian experience in refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, combustible equipment and related equipment required.
  • Certified refrigeration technician through a military or civilian formal technical training program.
  • Preferred knowledge of high‑voltage power generation equipment (5000 volts or higher).
  • Proficient in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Knowledge of military or civilian maintenance systems, quality assurance and supervisory techniques.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints and technical data for repair, installation and operation of GPMS related systems.
  • Valid home‑country driver’s license and ability to obtain host nation driver’s license.
  • Capability to operate material handling equipment.
  • English speaking, reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust U.S. Government Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Physical and Mental Demands

Most positions involve an office environment with occasional lifting to 20 pounds and constant computer use. Some positions involve shipboard, laboratory or outdoor environments where mechanical equipment is installed, tested or maintained.

  • Routine lifting up to 50 pounds, handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying.
  • Constant use of vision and mental alertness.
  • Exposure to loud and noisy environments or areas with exposed moving components.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with planning and organizing skills.
Other Responsibilities

Safety:
Contribute to a safety culture, complete all required training and participate in emergency response tasks and safety committees.

Quality:
Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable quality system documents and customer contracts.

Procedure Compliance:
Read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to the job.
