JOB

SUMMARY

The Mechanical Insulator performs journey-level insulation work, including installation, removal, maintenance, and repair of insulation systems on equipment, piping, structures, and buildings. This position is based primarily in Kuparuk and serves as a shared resource with Alpine. Travel to the Alpine field may be required. Day and night shift work may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Review blueprints, schematic drawings, and job specifications to determine insulation requirements.
  • Perform all phases of advanced cutting, fitting, and installation of insulation material.
  • Layout, fabricate, sew, install, remove, and repair insulation on tanks, boilers, turbines, pumps, pipes, valves, floors, ceilings, walls, and other structures.
  • Cover and line structures with blown or rolled insulation materials to insulate against cold, heat, or moisture using appropriate tools.
  • Cover and seal insulated surfaces or access openings with plastic covers, sealants, tape, or cement.
  • Maintain records of materials used.
  • Comply with company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support a zero-incident safety culture and maintain safe work practices on all projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license required.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification required.
  • Ability to work 80.5 hours per week on a 3x3 rotation.
  • At least four (4) years of experience as a Mechanical Insulator performing insulation work on equipment, piping, structures, and buildings.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Five (5) or more years of journey-level Mechanical Insulator experience in the Petrochemical or Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, or in Arctic environments.
