Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Carpenter to oversee and coordinate various construction and restoration projects. The ideal candidate will possess management skills, extensive hands-on experience in multiple facets of construction, and the ability to manage teams effectively on-site. This role involves supervising project execution, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining high-quality workmanship across diverse projects including remodeling, restoration, and new commercial construction.

Duties
  • Lead and supervise construction crews in tasks such as framing, carpentry, roofing, siding, drywall installation, and finishing work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Coordinate material procurement, delivery schedules, and ensure proper storage on-site.
  • Perform heavy lifting and assist with complex tasks such as concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, plumbing, electrical wiring, and tile laying.
  • Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and building codes; conduct regular safety inspections.
  • Manage individual project timelines, quality control, and troubleshoot issues as they arise during construction or restoration projects.
  • Communicate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to facilitate smooth project flow.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in construction estimating, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, drywall installation, roofing, siding, flooring installation, tile laying, electrical work or related fields.
  • Some knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, metal stud framing, plastering, caulking, stucco application, water damage restoration, mold remediation, fixture installation, cabinet installation and door hanging.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Prior experience working on construction sites with a solid understanding of safety procedures.
  • Excellent management skills with the ability to direct teams effectively while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members.
  • Relevant certifications or licenses related to construction trades are preferred but not mandatory. This role offers an opportunity for a skilled carpentry professional to lead diverse projects within a dynamic environment while demonstrating expertise across multiple construction disciplines.
