Alaska West is currently seeking a Trailer Mechanic based out of Fairbanks, Alaska.

What makes you successful in this position:- 1-3 years of proven work experience as diesel, trailer and heavy equipment mechanic experience
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work
- Ability to always follow all company policies and procedures
- Services and inspects commercial motor vehicles and trailers.
- Interprets deficiencies as identified on driver’s post trip inspection forms.
- Performs repairs to air ride and spring type suspension systems.
- Diagnoses and repairs electrical/lighting systems.
- Performs wheel end inspections and services.
- Performs annual Commercial Motor Vehicle inspections per FMCSR §396.19.
- Performs brake inspections per FMCSR §396.25.
- Performs basic computer functions by completing job work orders using Transman Fleet Equipment Maintenance System, recording materials used, type of work accomplished, and maintenance system codes.
- Operate company vehicles and forklifts in a safe, professional manner.
